What Is A Psychologist?

A psychologist is a professional who applies the science of human behavior to the resolution of     problems.   Psychologists typically have a doctoral degree which involves four or more years of graduate     training beyond the bachelor's degree, as well as a one-year internship to a clinical setting and additional     training as a psychology resident.  To be licensed, psychologists must provide evidence of appropriate     education, training and experience.  Candidates for licensure are then required to pass a nationally     standardized written examination as well as a specialized examination for each state in which they practice     psychology.  Dr. Ragusea is licensed in Florida and Pennsylvania.
